Project Overview
In dense urban environments, the only way to grow is up. Our latest residential project showcases a stunning rear-facade transformation of a multi-story row house. By replacing the traditional brick exterior with modern grey stucco and integrating a comprehensive glazing package, we have turned a standard building into a light-filled, contemporary residence featuring three tiers of outdoor living space.
The Challenge & Solution
Row houses often suffer from dark interiors and limited connection to the outdoors. The challenge for this renovation was to open up the rear wall to capture natural light while simultaneously creating safe, usable outdoor decks on multiple levels.
Our solution involved a complete exterior envelope upgrade. We installed oversized, black-framed architectural windows to flood the interior with light. To maintain an open, airy feel on the upper terraces, we utilized frameless glass railing systems, which provide safety without interrupting the skyline views.
Key Features of This Portfolio:
Tiered Outdoor Living: This project features a unique mix of railing styles. The main deck (2nd floor) utilizes a robust black metal picket railing with a matching staircase leading to the yard, offering durability and industrial style. The upper terraces (3rd floor and rooftop), however, switch to structural glass railings to minimize visual obstruction and act as a wind barrier for the rooftop lounge.
High-Performance Fenestration: We installed premium black-framed windows (as seen with the protective stickers still applied). These units are not only aesthetically sharp, creating a bold contrast against the grey facade, but they are also energy-efficient, designed to keep the home insulated against city weather.
Rooftop Expansion: The crowning jewel of this project is the rooftop deck. By installing a "shoe-base" glass railing system, we turned the roof into a safe, usable entertainment zone that feels like an extension of the sky.
Modern Material Palette: The combination of smooth grey stucco, matte black metal, and crystal-clear glass creates a cohesive, high-value aesthetic that stands out distinctly from the older neighboring buildings.
Why Invest in Glass Railings & Large Windows?
Unobstructed Views: On upper levels, glass railings allow you to enjoy the view even while seated, making the space feel larger and more connected to the surroundings.
Natural Light: Enlarging window openings transforms the interior living experience, reducing the need for artificial lighting and connecting residents with the outdoors.
Property Value: Adding functional outdoor space—especially a finished rooftop deck—is one of the highest ROI investments for city properties.
Conclusion
From the metal staircase at the garden level to the frameless glass railing on the roof, this project demonstrates our ability to handle complex, multi-story exterior renovations. We bring vision to life with precision installation of glass, metal, and window systems.
