Our latest residential project features a tailored security package for a red brick family home. The installation includes custom-angled white guards for a large front bay window and heavy-duty stainless steel bars for the basement. As seen in the interior photos, these guards provide peace of mind for a ground-floor playroom without sacrificing the view.
The Challenge & Solution
Bay windows are beautiful architectural features, but their projecting angles make them difficult to secure with standard "off-the-shelf" bars. Additionally, the homeowner wanted to ensure the window guards in the children's playroom were aesthetically pleasing from the inside and didn't feel "prison-like."
Our solution was to fabricate a multi-panel geometric guard system that perfectly follows the contour of the bay window. We finished it in white to match the window frames, allowing it to blend into the background. For the basement windows, which sit close to the soil and moisture, we utilized industrial-grade stainless steel flat bars for maximum rust resistance and strength.

Custom Bay Window Fabrication: As shown in the exterior photos, the white window guard is not a single flat piece. It is comprised of individual angled panels connected to wrap seamlessly around the curve of the bay window. This requires precise on-site measurement and custom welding.
Playroom Safety & Aesthetics: The interior view demonstrates why design matters. The geometric rectangular pattern creates a clean, modern frame for the outside world. For the playroom, these guards serve a dual function: they prevent break-ins and act as a safety barrier to prevent accidental falls against the glass.
Heavy-Duty Basement Protection: The basement windows, located at ground level, are high-risk entry points. We installed thick, flat-bar stainless steel grilles directly into the masonry. These bars are virtually impossible to bend or cut and are designed to withstand the damp conditions near the ground without rusting.
Seamless Color Integration: By color-matching the upper guards to the white vinyl window sashes and leaving the basement guards in a raw metallic finish to match the brick mortar, we ensured that the security features look like an intentional part of the home's design.
